A cluster of white-walled houses with coral and terracotta roofs sits along a low ridge, with a taller square tower at the centre. Dark, slender cypress trees rise between the buildings, and rounded olive-green bushes sit along the base of the village.
Below the village, smooth rolling fields in pale gold, cream and sand sweep across the lower half of the picture, marked by a few thin dark lines and orange streaks. The sky is a flat, saturated blue with no clouds. The surface looks like thick, scraped paint with simplified shapes and strong shadows.
