About Hopetoun Falls
A tall waterfall drops from a dark basalt ledge at the upper left, the long exposure smoothing it into a soft white column that fans out where it lands. To the right, a wall of Otways rainforest fills the frame: soft tree ferns with radiating fronds, a fallen trunk draped in moss, and mossy rock shelves. In the foreground a shallow creek runs amber-brown over gravel, splitting around boulders capped with bright green moss, its surface streaked where the water keeps moving.
The mood is cool, damp and quiet, with the silky water and deep green ferns giving the scene a still, enclosed feeling rather than drama.
Suits a living room with timber floors, linen sofas and indoor plants, or a bedroom where the greens and browns sit well with natural fibres and rattan. Works in a home office above a desk.
