A roan horse with a dark mane and a long black tail trots along a low sandy bank, caught side-on and heading to the left. Its coat is a dusty pink-grey, and its dark legs are mid-stride. The horse sits right of centre, with plenty of empty space around it.
Thick fog fills the upper half of the frame and blurs the far hills into pale grey. A few small green shrubs cling to the bank on the left. Below, a still pond mirrors the bank in soft brown and shows a blurred reflection of the horse. This is a quiet, muted photograph in earthy tones.
