About Ice Cream Collage
The whole surface is filled with ice cream treats overlapping each other with no background left showing. Waffle cones tip in every direction, some topped with mint green scoops flecked with chocolate chips, others with pink, lemon yellow or swirled soft serve. Chocolate coated bars on sticks sit beside orange and cherry red ice blocks, drizzled sundaes in paper cups, and a banana split with whipped cream and a glace cherry. Rainbow sprinkles, star confetti and choc dips scatter across the pile.
Underneath the food, glimpses of spotted and star patterned wrappers in red, purple, blue and turquoise fill the gaps between cones. Colours are saturated and shadows are soft, giving the illustration a smooth airbrushed finish with crisp outlines around each scoop and stick. It is a busy, cheerful piece with a retro milk bar feel, built to be read up close as much as from across the room.
