About Blue Vortex
A tall portrait canvas built entirely from short, flat palette knife strokes laid down like tiles. The marks curve in concentric arcs around a dark navy and black core near the upper middle, so the whole surface reads as a slow spiral. Cobalt, ultramarine and steel blue dominate the top two thirds, broken by grey-violet and small patches of sage green along the left edge. Towards the base the blues cool into turquoise and then break up into cream, pale yellow and white blocks.
The character is weather and water without naming either: a dense blue swirl that holds light along its lower rim. Ridges of paint catch room light, so the arcs shift as you move past.
Suits a narrow wall where a portrait shape fits: a hallway end, between two windows, above a console or beside a staircase. Works with white or pale grey walls, timber floors and linen upholstery, and pairs well with brass or black metal lamps. Good in bedrooms and bathrooms where the cool blues stay calm.
