About Harbour Sunset Sails
A tall ship sits at the left of the harbour, its white sails stacked up the mast in thick slabs of paint, the hull a pale cream wedge above dark water. Behind it the sky is built from short knife strokes: deep cobalt and violet across the top, breaking into orange, red and gold as it drops to the horizon. A white sun sits just above a line of low buildings and small yachts at right, casting a long gold column straight down the water.
The foreground water is a mosaic of crimson, blue, green and gold dashes, with masts drawn as thin vertical scratches through the wet paint. It reads as a bold, high-contrast harbour scene, energetic rather than calm, with the texture visible from across a room.
Suits a living room or dining room with white or grey walls, where the orange and cobalt can carry the space. Works above a sideboard, a long sofa or a fireplace, and pairs with timber furniture, navy upholstery and brass or black metal lighting. Also good in a coastal holiday house hallway.
