About Misty Park Walk
A single figure in dark clothing stands mid-distance on a wide path, small against a wall of pale turquoise mist. Above and to the left, a heavy canopy of leaves is built from short knife strokes in deep green, teal and black, flecked with orange and yellow where light catches the edges. Slim tree trunks rise on the right through the haze. The foreground path breaks into thick slabs of cobalt, navy, yellow ochre, scarlet and black, read as wet ground and reflected light.
Everything is laid on with the knife, so the surface carries visible ridges and clean flat edges rather than blended shading. The mood is quiet and damp, with the bright lower half doing the work the sky would usually do.
Works in a hallway or stairwell where the vertical shape fits a narrow wall, and in a living room above a low sideboard. The turquoise and cobalt sit well with grey or white walls, pale timber floors and linen upholstery. Pair with brass lamps, indoor greenery and a rug picking up the ochre and red tones.
