About Blue Rust Cascade
The canvas is filled with short, flat horizontal strokes laid on with a palette knife, stacked in loose rows across a two-to-one panoramic field. The top third is dominated by chalky white and pale grey blocks dotted with mustard yellow, while sky-blue dashes thread through the middle. Lower down the ground turns to deep brown and near-black, and the strokes shift to rust orange and burnt sienna, with blue dashes riding over them. Paint edges are ridged and slightly scraped, so the layers underneath show through in thin vertical drips.
There reads like light on water or a crowd of small signals seen from a distance, ordered but never repeated. The character is graphic and tactile: cool blue against warm rust, a clear gradient from bright top to dark base.
Built for a long wall: above a low sideboard, a three-seater sofa, or a bed head in a main bedroom. The blue and rust pair well with mid-brown timber, tan leather and charcoal upholstery, and the white upper section keeps it workable in pale grey or off-white rooms.
