About Spectrum Burst
A pale gold and white core sits just right of centre, radiating outward in short horizontal knife strokes. The colour shifts band by band: lemon yellow and cream through the middle, then orange and rust to the left, deep crimson and maroon along the lower edge, and turquoise, cobalt and leaf green across the top right corner. Everything is built from stacked rectangular scrapes, laid one over another so earlier layers show through as thin broken lines of contrasting colour.
The paint sits thick in places, with ridges catching the light where the knife lifted away. It reads as light breaking through a dense field of colour, energetic up close and calmer as a whole from across the room.
Works in a lounge room or open-plan living area with plain white or pale grey walls, where the yellow centre can carry the space. Suits a dining wall above a sideboard, or a reception area.
