About White Poppy Field
A wide panoramic canvas filled with slender white and cream poppies rising on thin dark stems from the lower edge. The background splits across the width: burnt rust and copper tones on the left, warm sandy cream through the centre, and bright turquoise blue washing across the right side and upper corners. Petals are laid on thickly with a palette knife, leaving ridges of paint that catch light, each bloom centred by a small dark dot. Stems are drawn in fine black lines that lean and cross.
The effect is a breezy field caught mid-sway, with the heat of rust on one side cooled by open turquoise on the other.
Suits a wide space above a sofa, bed head or sideboard, and works well in a hallway or dining room. The turquoise and rust pairing sits comfortably with timber furniture, rattan, linen in oatmeal or white, and brass or black metal fittings.
