About White Blossom Tree
A single dark trunk rises from the lower edge, curves to the right at about halfway up, then splits into thin branches that fan out across the full width of the canvas. Hundreds of small white blossoms sit along those branches, each built from a few thick knife strokes with a dot of bright red or pink at the centre. The background is worked in short square knife marks of charcoal, mid grey and pale silver, lighter behind the trunk and darker at the corners and edges.
The paint sits high off the canvas, so the flowers catch light and throw small shadows. It reads as a graphic, high-contrast piece: almost monochrome apart from the scattered red centres.
Suits a lounge room, bedroom or hallway with grey, white or black furnishings, and works above a charcoal sofa or a dark timber sideboard. The horizontal shape fits a long wall or the space above a bedhead. Pairs with chrome or black frames, linen cushions and a red or pink accent in the room.
