About Amber Horizon Trees
Three leafless trees stand across a wide panoramic canvas, their pale silver-grey trunks splitting into fine black twig work that reaches into the sky. Behind them a large white sun is laid in with circular knife strokes, rippling outward into bands of yellow, ochre, rust and deep crimson that streak diagonally to the upper corners. The lower third is built from wavy horizontal ridges of burnt orange, gold, chocolate brown and near-black, suggesting rolling ground rather than a described place. Paint sits thick along each ridge, catching light.
The mood is warm and windswept, the bare branches reading as delicate lines against heavy, worked colour. It is a decorative landscape rather than a literal one, carried by the contrast of slim dark trees and broad amber bands.
Built for a long wall above a sofa, sideboard or bed head. The amber, rust and chocolate tones suit leather lounges, timber floors, rattan and warm white or greige walls. Pairs with brass lamps, jute rugs and ochre cushions. Good in open-plan living rooms and hallways where a wide horizontal shape fills awkward space.
