About White Blossom Tree
A single slender tree fills the tall canvas, its dark trunk curving in a long S from the base to the crown. Hundreds of small white blossoms are laid on in thick palette knife dabs, each one a raised button of paint, massing at the top and trailing down both sides like a weeping canopy. The background is built from loose squares of aqua blue, ochre and gold that read as a soft patchwork rather than sky, with brown patches at the upper corners and along the lower edge.
The trunk carries gold and olive highlights along one side, catching light against its near-black core. Texture does the work here: the flowers sit well above the surface and throw tiny shadows, so the picture shifts as light moves across it. The overall character is decorative and calm, bright without being busy.
The narrow upright shape suits a hallway end wall, a stairwell, or the space between two doorways. It works beside a bed as a single tall piece, or in an entry above a slim console.
