About Daisy Field Sunrise
Around twenty white daisies rise on thin dark stems from the bottom edge, their five and six petal heads laid down in short thick strokes of palette knife white with small ochre and brown centres. The background is split by colour: burnt orange, rust and golden ochre fill the left half, while cobalt blue, violet and pale aqua sweep across the right, meeting in a soft cream haze near the top centre. Small black dots and flecks of red scatter between the stems like seed heads.
paint sits high on the surface, with knife edges leaving flat facets and ridges that catch light across both the flowers and the background. The character is bright and energetic, a simple field of daisies carried by strong warm-to-cool colour contrast.
Suits a living room with white or pale grey walls, a dining area above a sideboard, or a bedroom that needs a lift of colour. Works with timber furniture, rattan and linen, and picks up existing orange, terracotta or blue cushions and rugs. Good over a low console where the stems sit at eye level.
