About Sunlit Forest Path
A narrow red-earth track runs from the bottom edge straight into the centre of the canvas, where the trees open onto a vertical column of pale yellow and white light. Slim trunks line both sides, some pale birch-white with dark markings, others in deep brown and near-black, rising past the top of the frame. Foliage is built from short knife-loaded dabs of lemon yellow, olive and fresh green, with small flecks of rust red in the left mid-ground. Grass verges catch the same yellow light in broken strokes.
The paint sits high on the surface, so the leaves and the gravelly path carry visible ridges that pick up room light. It is a bright, calm woodland scene with strong central symmetry and a clear pull toward the glowing distance.
The upright format suits a narrow wall between doorways, an entry hall, or the space above a hall table or stair landing. The yellow-green and rust tones sit well with timber floors, rattan, linen in cream or sage, and brass fittings. Works as a single vertical piece in a bedroom or a reading corner beside a lamp.
