About Golden Creek Woodland
Slender trees lean in from both banks, their thin trunks streaked in rust red, dark brown and grey against a wall of yellow and gold foliage. A patch of pale blue sky opens in the upper centre, the brightest point in the canvas. Below, a small white cascade tips over rocks and feeds a wide creek that runs to the front edge, its surface a mix of brown, mauve and broken strips of light blue. Yellow and orange shrubs crowd both banks.
The paint is laid on with a knife in flat, squared-off slabs, so the leaves read as blocks of colour rather than detail, and the water ripples are single dragged strokes. The overall character is warm and bright, an autumn scene built from strong colour and thick, visible ridges of paint.
Suits a living room or dining wall painted white, warm grey or soft green, and works well above a timber sideboard or leather sofa where the rust and gold tones repeat. Good in entry halls needing warmth. Pairs with brass lamps, woven rugs and indoor greenery. The horizontal format fits above a long couch.
