About Lady and Child Golfer
A tall woman stands in near-total silhouette, her cloche-style hat, long coat and skirt reduced to one flat dark shape. A gloved hand rests on a long-shafted club angled down to the lower right corner, its head resting on a dark mound of ground. Beside her a smaller child figure, also hatted and coated, carries a bag with club heads fanning out in thin white outlines. Faces, collars and shoes are left as negative space, so the cream background does the drawing. Background tones shift from warm taupe at the top left to a soft ivory at the right.
The silhouettes carry a mottled, aged wash, olive-green through the lower half and near-black at the shoulders, with faint scratches and creases like old paper. The mood is quiet and nostalgic, a golf-club scene stripped back to two shapes and a line.
