About Layers of Winter D
A square composition built from horizontal bands of watercolour wash reading as layered hills. Pale mauve and grey clouds sit across the top third against bare white, then a ridge of dark charcoal ink breaks the middle with rounded, cauliflower-like forms that resemble massed trees. Below them a dusty plum shape rises to a peak, edged by soft taupe and warm grey bleeds. The foreground returns to deep charcoal with blotted, granulating edges and small flecks of white left unpainted.
The character is quiet and atmospheric: wet pigment allowed to pool, feather and settle so every edge is soft rather than drawn. Colour stays muted, with the dark ink providing weight against the washed-out sky.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a living room with grey or oatmeal upholstery, or a home office wall. The square format works over a low sideboard or in a pair with a matching print.
