A single palm trunk curves in from the left edge, its green fronds spreading across the upper left of the frame. The trunk is dark and slender, and the leaves catch the light so the tips look yellow-green. Behind it the sky is a deep, clear blue.
On the right, the sun sits behind a bank of white cloud and throws pale rays across the sky. Below the horizon, calm water shifts from deep blue to bright turquoise near the shore, ending at a smooth band of pale sand with a thin line of foam. It reads as a clean, bright photograph.
