About Life Source
A single egg-shaped form sits just below and left of centre, its surface graded from pale gold at the upper left to deep shadowed brown along the lower right edge, so it reads as a solid rounded object rather than a flat circle. A soft halo of cream and bleached ochre surrounds it, lifting it clear of the background. The rest of the canvas is a worked field of rust, copper and burnt orange, broken by dry-brushed white patches and darker brown stains that drift down the left and right edges.
The paint is laid on thickly and then combed, so fine horizontal and vertical ridges run across the whole surface and catch light unevenly. The character is quiet and mineral, like weathered clay or oxidised metal, with one calm focal point holding a busy, textured ground together.
Suits warm neutral rooms: a living room with tan leather, a hallway above a timber console, or a bedroom with linen and jute. The rust and copper tones sit well against off-white, clay or charcoal walls and pair with rattan, brass lamps and ceramic vessels. The panoramic shape works over a low sideboard or bedhead.
