About Lightning Over the Sea
A wide horizon splits the image about two thirds down. Above it sits a dense storm cell, layered in charcoal, olive-grey and near-black cloud that rolls and curls towards the top corners. From the pale opening at the centre, three lightning bolts drop to the sea, one branching into forked limbs, the others falling as narrow vertical threads on the right. Below, the water is dark teal, broken by white surf lines that catch the flash and run in bands across the foreground.
There is real weight to this image: the sky presses down while the lightning opens a bright channel straight through it. Quiet and cold in tone, but charged.
Suits a living room with dark timber or charcoal walls, a home office above a desk, or a bedroom where you want a cool, moody focal point.
