Horizontal bands of blue, turquoise and cream run across the whole canvas, showing sand bars and shallow channels at low tide. Thick, knife-like strokes leave a ridged texture in each stripe. The darkest navy sits near the horizon and the colours lighten toward the pale sand along the bottom edge.
A cluster of small boats sits on the flats, among them a yellow-hulled fishing boat, a dark boat with a red stripe, and sailboats with masts standing tall. Across the water, white cottages with dark roofs sit among wind-bent trees with olive and ochre foliage. Tiny white sails dot the horizon, and small orange buoys add accents.
