About Giggling Donkey
A cartoon donkey stands side-on against a plain pale grey-white background, its head swung around to face the viewer. The head is painted far larger than the body, a pear-shaped muzzle built from patches of coral red, orange, mint, lilac, pink and silver-grey, with two dark nostrils and a wide grinning mouth outlined in deep red. Two big round eyes with black pupils sit high on the face, ringed with pink lashes, and a tuft of orange mane runs between patchwork ears.
The body is by comparison quiet: a soft washed pink and grey torso with thin legs, small dark hooves and an orange brushed tail flicked upward. Paint is applied in thick dabs and small flat strokes, almost collage-like, with visible ridges of colour across the face. The character is playful and comic rather than realistic, built to raise a smile.
Suits kids' bedrooms, nurseries, playrooms and family hallways, and works in a bright kitchen or a rumpus room. The pale background sits easily on white or soft grey walls, while the coral and mint patches pick up cushions, rugs and toy storage in similar colours. Good above a low bookshelf or change table.
