A tall cocktail glass fills the upper two thirds of the frame, drawn with a wide, shallow bowl and a slim stem that ends in a round foot. The drink is a glowing orange-red, with a dark cherry on a stick and a curl of orange peel floating inside. A pale blue rim catches the light along the top edge.
Behind the glass, mustard-yellow block lettering runs down a dark brown background with a scratched, worn texture. The heading reads "MANHATTAN" in large capitals, followed by recipe lines: "3/4 OZ" vermouth, "2 1/2 OZ BOURBON", "DASH OF BITTERS" and "CRUSHED" and "CHERRY", with the glass hiding parts. The last line reads "BEST SERVED AFTER MIDNIGHT".
