About Citrine Terrace
The canvas is built from overlapping rectangles and bands that read like panels of a wall. Warm ochre and burnt orange run down the centre, flanked by soft yellow on the left and a tall block of dark brown on the right. A pale sage-green square sits in the middle, cooling the composition. A thin silver arc loops out of the upper centre and trails downward as a fine dark line, the one curve in a picture otherwise made of straight edges and right angles.
Paint is laid in thin, layered washes with dry-brushed edges, so earlier colours show through and the weave of the canvas stays visible. Fine scratched lines, rust-coloured drips and small dark dashes break up the larger blocks. It is a quiet, grounded abstract, warm rather than bright, with just enough silver and line work to keep the eye moving.
Suits a living room with timber floors, leather or tan furniture, and warm white or clay-coloured walls. Works above a sideboard, in a hallway, or in a home office where the vertical format fits a narrow wall. Pairs with brass lamps, linen cushions, woven baskets and dark timber frames.
