About Sage Dawn Horizon
A square canvas divided a little above centre by a narrow band of pale cream-green light, which reads as a low horizon. Above it the paint moves from soft grey-green through olive to a darker, cooler green along the top edge, brushed in long horizontal sweeps that let the canvas weave show through. Below the horizon the tones warm into ochre and mid-brown, with dry scumbled patches and faint vertical drags. A row of small dark flecks sits on the horizon line, suggesting distant trees or scrub, and the lower corners darken to near-black olive.
The mood is quiet and early-morning: no detail, no focal point, just tone shifting from cool green above to warm earth below. It works as a landscape from a distance and as pure colour up close.
Suits bedrooms, hallways and sitting rooms where the palette is already soft: oatmeal linen, limewashed walls, pale oak or rattan. The olive and ochre sit well with terracotta pots, jute rugs and aged brass. Square format is useful above a low sideboard, a bedhead or a single armchair, hung on its own.
