A square composition looks down on a piano keyboard from a steep angle, the run of white keys sweeping from the lower left to the upper right corner. The black keys sit as dark grey and near-black blocks, uneven in tone, some with a small patch of turquoise on their tops. The white keys are not clean white at all: they carry streaks of ochre, apricot, pale pink and grey, as though worn by years of playing, with thin dark lines marking the gap between each one.

Behind the keyboard the fallboard and back panel dissolve into loose blocks of red, teal, mustard, violet and brown, scraped and layered so edges blur. The lower left corner repeats those colours across the piano case, with a flash of blue-green near the base. The overall feel is warm and slightly worn, a familiar instrument described through colour and texture rather than exact detail.
