A thick dark trunk rises up the left edge and splits into heavy limbs that curve across the square frame. From them, hundreds of fine twigs branch out and thin to threads, with no leaves left on the tree. One long limb sweeps out to the right and a smaller cluster hangs low in the lower centre.
The image is reduced to two flat tones: deep brown-black branches against a solid mustard-gold sky. There is no gradient, cloud or horizon, so the scene reads like a graphic cut-out. The edges of the twigs look slightly speckled and grainy, which gives the lacework a printed, high-contrast texture.
