About Old Fairy Tree
A massive old tree fills the right half of the frame, its trunk split and knotted with pale grey bark and dark hollows. Heavy branches reach left and low across the picture, lit from behind by a warm amber glow filtering through fog. Leaves along those branches run from gold to burnt orange, while the surrounding forest fades into cool teal and blue-grey haze. The ground is thick with rust-red fallen leaves, and a stripped, weathered log lies in the foreground beside scattered bare branches.
The mood is quiet and slightly eerie, the kind of forest scene that looks like it belongs in a folk tale. Cool mist against warm autumn light gives the image real depth.
Works in a living room above a sofa in linen or charcoal, in a bedroom facing the bed, or along a hallway where the misty depth draws the eye.
