A small owl fills the right side of this square image, its body turned away while its head looks back toward us. Two large round eyes with bright highlights sit in a heavily textured cream face, and a short dark beak points downward. Feathers are rendered as rough white strokes and flecks across the wings and chest.
On the upper left a plain pale full moon hangs against a dark grey-brown background. The whole scene is printed in a stamped, etched style over visible woodgrain, with scratched, worn texture and a ragged black border around the edges. The palette is limited to charcoal, chocolate brown, cream and white.
