About Palm Cove Jetty Sunrise
A concrete boat ramp fills the lower half of the frame, its ribbed surface running diagonally from the bottom edge toward the waterline, with a low kerb wall on the right. Beyond it the sea is smoothed to a soft sheet by a long exposure, reflecting mauve and gold. A timber jetty on slender piles crosses the left and middle of the frame, ending at a small platform where a single figure stands. Lamp posts punctuate its length and a headland sits low on the horizon.
The sky carries lilac and dusty pink above, breaking to burnt orange and yellow along the horizon, with thin dark clouds streaked across it. The mood is quiet and still, the kind of early morning where water looks like poured metal.
Suits a bedroom above the bedhead, a beach house hallway or a living room with rattan, linen and pale timber. The mauve and amber tones sit well against white or soft grey walls, and it works as a single wide piece over a low sideboard, sofa or console.
