A curved beach runs from the bottom right up to a green headland, seen from a high viewpoint. The sand is warm gold and ochre, with grey rock and dark brown cliff along the right edge. Tiny figures stand and wade along the waterline, and three umbrellas in red and green-and-blue stripes sit on the lower sand.
On the left the sea moves from deep cobalt through bright turquoise to white foam where the waves reach the shore. A flat rock sits just off the point. Tall palms rise on the headland against a pale blue sky streaked with thin cloud. The brushwork is loose and textured, in the style of a layered, scraped painting.
