About Peggys Cove Lighthouse Sunset
A white lighthouse with a dark red lantern housing stands slightly right of centre on a low, bare granite headland. Above it the sky fills most of the frame with long streaks of cloud fanning out from the horizon, lit coral pink, apricot and salmon, fading to smoky mauve and grey-blue at the upper corners. In the foreground a shallow tidal pool sits in the rock, its still surface holding a clear mirrored copy of the lighthouse and the burning cloud pattern above it.
The rock surface is pale and weathered, veined with darker seams and flat ledges that lead the eye to the water's edge. The overall character is quiet and wide open: a single small structure held between two matching skies, with colour doing all the work.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a coastal-style bedroom, or a home office wall that needs warmth without pattern. The pinks and apricots sit well with white walls, pale timber, linen upholstery and rattan. Pair it with other water or sky photographs, or hang it on its own above a bedhead.
