About Pilbara Sunrise Gum
A multi-trunked snappy gum stands at the left edge, its smooth chalk-white bark marked with dark scars and knots, branches reaching across the top of the frame with sparse olive-green leaves. Below it the ground is loose red-brown rock and gravel, scattered with pale dry stones. Clumps of straw-coloured spinifex and tussock grass fill the foreground and run down the slope to the right. Beyond, a wide valley of yellow-green scrub leads to low, flat-topped ranges lit warm along their ridges.
A calm early-light view of the Pilbara, where the white trunk and red earth carry the picture more than the distance does. The sky is clear blue at the top, breaking into rows of small sunlit clouds towards the horizon.
Works in a living room or hallway where you want warm outback colour without busy pattern. It sits well with timber furniture, jute or sisal rugs, leather and linen in tan and cream. Good in a home office or bedroom too, and large sizes suit a long wall above a low sideboard or bedhead.
