This photograph looks down a wide aisle between rows of tall, slender poplar trees. The pale cream trunks run straight from the dry grass floor to the top of the frame, and the nearest trunks on both sides are wide and sharply detailed with grey bark texture.
Green leaves form a canopy on both sides, tapering to a narrow band of bright white sky at the centre. Trunks repeat into the distance and soften into a haze of beige. The dry, straw-coloured ground and the strong daylight give the scene a clean, high-key feel, with a symmetrical composition.
