Across the top, "WANTED" is set in heavy, slab-serif capitals in dark red-brown, with "ALPHONSE GABRIEL CAPONE" in smaller capitals beneath it. The lettering is worn and speckled, as if the sheet had been rubbed and creased over many years. The background is a mottled cream and tan, with darker stains toward the corners.
Two portraits of a man in a dark suit and patterned tie face each other in the lower half, one in profile looking right and one facing the front. Between them sit the lines "PUBLIC ENEMY #1" and "$25,000 REWARD". A scratched number, "C28169", is faintly visible at lower left, and a strip along the bottom reads "J. EDGAR HOOVER, DIRECTOR".
