About Queensland Sunshine Coast
A low rock shelf runs from the bottom left corner into the middle of the frame, its flat grey slabs split by cracks and pooled with water. Incoming surf breaks over and between the rocks in long white streaks, smoothed by a slow shutter so the moving water reads as soft mist against hard stone. On the horizon at the left sits a dark strip of headland and trees. Above, heavy blue-grey cloud banks part over the sea, with a bright gold sun low behind a curtain of falling rain.
The character here is weather rather than postcard calm: a storm cell dropping rain over open water while warm light burns through underneath. Cool slate tones in the rock and cloud are balanced by the amber glow spreading across the horizon.
Suits a coastal or beach house living room, a bedroom with white or driftwood timber furniture, and a home office wall that needs depth.
