Three large red poppies fill the square, their heads cut by loose black outlines and fine white streaks. Each flower has a dense black centre with a small white starburst at its core. Two grey-green buds on thin dark stems rise at the left and lower centre, one curling over the top left corner.
Behind the flowers is a beige ground covered in faded French handwriting, ruled lines and printed fragments such as "Monsieur" and "chandises". The word ROUGE runs down the right edge in tall black capitals. Black ink splashes bleed into the bottom corners and a thin white border frames the scene. It reads as a digital mix of brushy illustration and vintage paper.
