Long, thin blades of grass sweep from the top of the portrait frame to the bottom in two loose bundles. The left bundle bends in a wide curve, while the right one leans the opposite way and thins out near the top.
The blades are white, edged and flecked with dark teal, so they read like a negative impression on a flat, warm beige ground. There is no horizon and no water, only line, with a few single strands drifting free at the right and left edges.
