About Security
The canvas is built from horizontal bands of colour that shift between burnt orange, rust red, ochre gold and a dark maroon that pools through the middle and lower right. Over this ground run several thin, pale cream lines that trickle from the top edge down towards the base, two of them looping into small knots near the upper left and centre. The surface is dry-brushed and scraped in places, leaving speckled, mottled patches where lighter gold breaks through the red, particularly along the left edge.
There is nothing depicted here beyond colour and mark, so the painting reads as warmth and weathered surface, closer to rusted metal or sun-baked wall than to any object. The drip lines give it a quiet vertical rhythm against the heavy horizontal blocks.
Warm and grounded, it suits a living room with timber floors, leather or tan furniture, and brick or off-white walls. It works above a sideboard in a dining room or in a hallway where the gold flecks catch lamplight. Pairs with brass fittings, terracotta pots, jute rugs and dark-stained furniture.
