A black bicycle leans against the thick, knotted trunk of a large tree on the right, resting in a patch of dappled shade. Behind it a long cream farmhouse runs across the left side, with pale blue shutters, small-paned windows and a blue door standing slightly open. The roofline carries a strip of terracotta tiles.
Warm afternoon light falls across the gravel yard and the rendered wall, with cool blue shadows cast by the branches. Green and yellow leaves fill the top of the picture, and a grapevine climbs over the doorway. Clusters of red and orange flowers edge the base of the wall. The brushwork is loose and textured, in the manner of an oil-style painting.
