About Shining Magical Sky
A single leafless tree stands left of centre on dry, pebbled ground, its rust-brown trunk and fine branching silhouette catching light from a burst behind it. Beyond the foreground of sandy soil and low green scrub, a flat blue lake runs across the frame with a pale ridge of hills on the right. Above and behind, the entire sky is replaced by a nebula: clouds of gold, cream, apricot, teal and deep violet spun around a white core, scattered with pinpoint stars.
The mood is quiet rather than dramatic, the ordinary dry lakeshore holding steady while the sky turns into deep space. Warm earth tones at the base keep the cosmic colour from feeling weightless.
