About Shooting Stars
A single broad-crowned tree stands in shallow, glass-smooth water at the centre of the frame, its thin trunk splitting into low branches just above the surface. Above it, hundreds of white star trails sweep across a deep blue sky in long curving arcs, radiating outward from a point off the upper left. A narrow band of amber and orange light sits on the horizon, with dark cloud shapes and a few distant lights scattered along it. The water below holds a soft, blurred reflection of the tree and the glow.
There is no visible grain or brush texture; the long exposure smooths the water into a flat sheet and renders the sky as fine, sharp streaks. The mood is quiet and still, a patient night scene where the only movement is the sky itself.
Suits a bedroom above the bedhead, a home office behind the desk, or a living room wall where the deep blue can sit against white, grey or charcoal paint.
