About Slowly Does It
A leopard moves across the sheet from the upper right, head lowered toward the bottom left, one foreleg reaching down into a patch of grass. The body is built from rust orange and tan washes broken by loose charcoal and slate rosettes that scatter over the shoulder, flank and hind leg. Colour is left deliberately unfinished: the chest and back edges dissolve into bare white, with soft bleeds and granulating pigment where the washes ran together. Olive and grey-green strokes suggest thin grass blades under the front paw.
The mood is quiet and watchful rather than dramatic. Loose watercolour edges and generous white space give the animal a sense of slow, careful forward motion.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a home office, or a kids' or teen bedroom where a single animal image can carry the wall. It sits easily with pale walls, rattan, linen and light timber, and pairs well with other watercolour animal prints or botanical studies in a vertical group.
