About Amber Alphabet
Vertical blocks of colour run the full height of the square canvas. A warm amber and orange column sits at the centre, overlapped by a narrower burnt-orange panel with a small red patch near the top. To its left, a chalky white band and a grey field carry loose yellow drag marks; to the right, a deep black panel fills the last third. A stencilled capital A sits low on the left, the letters BC in black near the centre, and a small white square with a faint red smudge just beneath them.
Lines of pale script, unreadable and quickly written, run across both the black and the amber areas. The paint is applied in flat, dry strokes with the weave of the canvas showing through, and edges are scraped rather than ruled. It reads like a torn poster wall, warm and graphic without being loud.
Works over a sideboard in a dining room, above a desk, or in a hallway where a square shape fits between doorways. The amber and black suit oak, walnut and black metal furniture, tan leather and charcoal upholstery. Hang it alone on a white or pale grey wall so the lettering stays readable from across the room.
