A timber walkway runs from the top left corner out to a small fishing hut raised high on tall wooden poles. Thin diagonal cross braces link the posts, and a square lift net hangs from the platform beside the hut. The structure sits in the upper half of a square frame, with its poles dropping to the water below.
A long exposure turns the sea into a soft, silky haze, and the poles fade into faint vertical reflections at the bottom. Heavy grey clouds are streaked across the sky, with a pale glow near the horizon. A low rocky shoreline sits at the lower left. The black and white photograph is calm and quiet.
