A narrow channel of white, silky water runs from the lower centre of the frame out toward the horizon, softened by a long exposure. Dark, fractured boulders crowd both sides, with bright green moss clinging to the ledges on the left and the lower edge. A single rounded rock sits in the middle distance.
The sun sits right on the horizon as a small bright point, under a band of deep orange and red that fades into yellow, then a muted blue-grey sky. The sea beyond is flat and pale. The warm sky against cool water and charcoal rock gives a calm, quiet dusk or dawn mood. It is a photograph.
