A white swan floats on near-black water, its neck curved so the beak points down towards its breast. The feathers are drawn in cream blocks with fine darker lines, and the swan's reflection spreads in pale streaks beneath it. Dark reeds or hanging fronds fill the background in loose, scratchy strokes.
The lettering is Art Deco. At the top it reads "avec le charme de son subtil parfum" above a bold "LA REINE DES CRÈMES" and "merveilleuse crème de beauté". Large looping script follows: "vous donnera sa blancheur". At the foot sits "J. Lesquendieu, Parfumeur, PARIS". The palette is cream on black, with a small signature at lower right.
