Tall, slender tree trunks rise in rows across the whole canvas, some dark brown and some pale and birch-like with grey-white bark. Thin branches cross and tangle between them, and a few carry rust-red tips. The trunks run right up to the top edge, so the grove feels dense and unbroken.
The canopy is a mass of loose teal and blue-green leaves dabbed across the top third. Below it the background softens to cream and pale aqua, then warms to ochre and amber near the ground. The brushwork is visible and layered, with a mottled, canvas-like texture and small flecks of dark paint, giving a soft impressionist look.
