About The Eyes of the Tiger
A vintage-style collage places two figures in formal Victorian dress on a floating chunk of grey rock. The standing figure wears a black frock coat, cravat and top hat, with the head of an orange Bengal tiger; beside him a seated figure in a peach satin gown has the head of a white tiger, one hand resting on a bunch of white daisies. They share an olive-green sofa. Behind them rise the Taj Mahal and the Empire State Building against a mottled teal and cream sky.
Small hot air balloons and scattered coloured shapes drift above, with birds specked across the right side. The whole sheet carries a worn, foxed paper texture, soft scratches and faded edges typical of old prints. The mood is dry and deadpan rather than comic, an odd formal portrait that rewards a second look.
Suits a living room, hallway or home office with a bit of personality, and works in eclectic or vintage-industrial interiors. Hang it above a leather armchair, a dark timber sideboard or a study desk. It pairs well with aged brass, botanical prints, globes and book stacks, and holds its own on a teal, charcoal or off-white wall.
